A Toast

Victoria has us sounding off tonight at the Dverse Bar. We’re doing a quadrille (poem of exactly 44 words), using the word sound. So, I make a toast to you!

Prost, a toast!
May all your life bring boasting;
And all the ones you seek,
Sound your praises at the hosting,
And caress your rosy cheek.

May the Sun shine always
On your smiling face;
Be a true friend all your days.
And always a warm embrace!

        Whoa, are we sure these are all toasts? I sure hope so.Fad saol agat, gob fliuch, agus bás in Éirinn! It is meant well. Hope it comes out right

    Oh I like this very much, a wonderful toast! Reminds me of an old Irish blessing, author unknown…
    May the road rise up to meet you.
    May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face;
    the rains fall soft upon your fields
    and until we meet again,
    may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
