Peppermint Meringue Pie

Hi this is Lora Walters. Kim has asked us to write a quadrille of exactly 44 words. Since today is the 50th anniversary of “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, the word of the day is pepper:

Peppermint meringue pie,
A tasty dish to set before the king;
Who cried both day and night,
“Give me pie or it will be your life.”
The baker and peppermint maker
worked hard day and night
On peppermint meringue pie
Which saved their lives

    Nice way to get the word “pepper” in there. I would have thought of peppermint tea, but that pie sounds like it might be tasty. And apparently the king liked it.

    Peppermint meringue pie sounds delicious! In my car are the remains of a bag of mints my husband bought for a car journey several weeks ago and I can’t stop rummaging in the glove compartment for them!

    Peppermint Meringue Pie. Hmmm, this is making my mouth water and I have never even tried it before. I sure would love to though 🙂
